Elite has recently developed a new manufacturing technique that allows the creation of spun reflectors and antennas using perforated material. This technique was developed in response to customer demand for a lighter, but exceptionally robust antenna with reduced windloading which is especially useful in particularly harsh, windswept environments.

Our intitial tests have indicated a reduction in windloading of approx. 31%, and a reduction of weight of approx. 39% compared to a standard antenna.

A-INFO’s waveguide loads are designed to provide a low VSWR and are available in various versions to handle different power applications. The standard models include low and medium power levels, and high power levels. The power terminations are produced with standard waveguide flange interface from 1.12 to 110 GHz.

The termination consists of a short length of waveguide and an integral matched terminal load. Individual resistive dielectric loads are tapered to precise wedge configurations for maximum effective power absorption. The gradual taper ensures a low VSWR over the full waveguide band. These loads have the capacity to absorb up to 10K Watts of power depending on the frequency band.

They are designed and manufactured to offer a good match for system applications. Custom levels of power handling are available under different model numbers.

DC power is provided for the BUC/ LNA/ LNB units whilst current is monitored to establish correct operation and trigger automatic switch-over to the standby/ off-line unit as necessary. User settable current alarm levels are provided.
Tell-backs from waveguide switches are monitored to ensure correct positioning and operation. Reference generation, automatic external reference locking or ‘pass-through can be provided for BUC/ LNB units.

The T1254 TCXO (temperature compensated crystal oscillator), available from 10 to 50MHz, features an extremely rugged, 20.3 mm x 12.7 mm DIP package, CMOS output and supply voltage of +5.0VDC. Acceleration sensitivity is <7x10-10/g (std) or <7x10-11/g (LG option).
